Modern technology creates tensions for modern life with regard to local ecological health, and it offers resources for addressing these tensions. This class seeks to gain clarity on the issues, to pursue understanding of moral choices, and to consider ways to move forward amidst the promises and perils of technology in the local ecologies and economies. In short, how can we foster sustainability in thinking and practice regarding local ecological health? Specifically, where do religious voices offer understanding, and most importantly, how does the Christian tradition bear on the issues at hand?
